Support to the growth of Moldova’s regions by enhancing their resilience to conditions in emergency situation and mitigating the long-term consequences of COVID-19

Latvia’s experience can serve as an inspiring example for Moldova’s regions to overcome the socio-economic challenges related to the Covid-19 crisis, incl. the development of public administration and capacity building, the development of entrepreneurship and the promotion of democratic participation, ensuring the renewal and advancement of local economic resources, as well as the coordinated action of the parties involved in the development of the territory for effective crisis management.

The project “Supporting the Growth of the Moldovan Region by Facilitating Capacity Adaptation Emergencies and Reducing the Duration of COVID-19 Consequences” is the Latvian Rural Forum (LLF) and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia, Moldova National LEADER Network, Northern Region Development Agency, Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, Local Action Groups in Latvia and Moldova, Vidzeme Planning Region, initiative supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia

The aim of the project is to support the Moldovan regions in overcoming the socio-economic challenges related to the Covid-19 crisis, incl. the development of public administration and capacity building, the development of entrepreneurship and the promotion of democratic participation, ensuring the renewal and advancement of local economic resources, as well as the coordinated action of the parties involved in the development of the territory for effective crisis management.

The project activities “Capacity Building for Day-to-Day Work and Longer Adaptation” include workshops on practical recommendations, good practices and opportunities and online workshops to facilitate the exchange of good practice and a strong response to the long-term conditions and consequences of COVD-19.

The work plan of the webinars includes experts from various fields and practical information on practical recommendations, good practices and opportunities, as well as discussions with participants (representatives of Moldovan municipalities, regions, ministers, LAGs and NGOs) about these persons. The webinars are open to an unlimited number of participants, they are broadcast on the LLF Facebook account, as well as recorded and posted on the LLF YouTube channel and on the LLF website www.laukuforums.lv
